Akbar Hassim is the Founder and Managing Director of FutureDev Properties.
Prior to forming FutureDev Properties, Akbar was a Director of the Sandton based Civil Engineering Contracting Firm – Odoko, from 2007 to mid 2012.
While at Odoko, Akbar was involved and responsible for some of the following successful projects;
- Civil Engineering Services to the Fleurhof Mixed Use Development for Calgro M3 Holdings
- Bulk Earthworks to the Park Inn Hotel, in Sandton (Initially Fire & Ice) for New City Group
- Earthworks to the Landmark KPMG East Campus, in Parktown
- Upgrade of St Andrews Road Offramp, Parktown, for KPMG
- Bulk Earthworks for the New Engineering Block & Parkade for University of Pretoria article article
- Civil Engineering Services for the Mjejane Private Game Reserve & Lodge for Mjejane Trust, in Mpumalanga article
- Civil Engineering Services for the Baken Park Mixed Use Development in Bethlehem, Free State;
and numerous other well-known, landmark Developments in the Commercial, Residential and Industrial Property Sectors throughout South Africa, worth over R1 billion.
From 2012, Akbar Hassim has been involved in a number of Residential and Mixed Use Developments throughout South Africa, in various capacities and roles (Partner, JV Partner, Development Manager, Project Manager, and/or Consultant), the most prestigious being the Pearls of Umhlanga – Pearls SKY, which was the Largest Privately Developed Residential Development in South Africa, valued at just over R3 billion.
Our Development / Construction experience encompasses; Infrastructure Projects, Affordable Housing, Student Accommodation, Multi-Storey, Mixed-Use Developments, Apartment Blocks, Serviced Apartments for Short & Long-Term Letting, and our Pride & Joy; Full-Title Free Standing Residential Cluster Developments.
