South African television presenter, entrepreneur and media personality Maps Maponyane has officially started construction and renovations on his long-awaited dream home, giving fans a first look at the exciting project.
The star took to Instagram to reveal the milestone, sharing that he had deliberately kept the project under wraps until now.
“With the spirit of the breaking ground ceremony, a new step forward commences… I’m grateful for this new beginning,” he wrote.
Maponyane also explained the inspiration behind the home, revealing that his love for Japanese culture and architecture is shaping the design.
“So I’ve been pretty tight-lipped about this, and now I’m finally ready to share that I’m working on the construction and renovation of my dream home project.
“I’m obsessed with Japanese culture, and I love the way they think about architecture, design and their attention to detail. This is the project of creating my Japanese oasis.”
The video offers a glimpse of the property before the transformation begins. Surrounded by lush gardens and mature greenery, the home already features several elements synonymous with Japanese-inspired living, including wooden doors and frames, a tranquil pond and a swimming pool.
In true “Top Billing” fashion, Maponyane walked viewers through the property, showcasing its current state while hinting at the vision for the finished masterpiece.
Reflecting on the journey ahead, he said he is looking forward to taking his followers along for every stage of the renovation.
“I’m so excited to go on this journey with all of you just to see how much goes into it. As you’ve seen, there’s still a whole lot of construction and a lot of work that lies ahead, but I can’t wait to see the final result. I’m really excited to watch it all come together and become my dream home.”
The announcement was met with an outpouring of support from fans, who praised the concept and congratulated him on reaching the milestone.
